Boat Hire Terms – General

Trinity Point Marina must be contacted and made aware of any emergency situation or incident onboard or linked to the vessel as soon as possible. If there are any life‐threatening emergencies please call “000” first.

The person listed on the vessel booking form is responsible for all occupants (including any pets) and their actions. You are the skipper, you are responsible.

Payment in full is required at time of booking. Please see cancellation policy for details on cancellation.

On the day of hire a $1,000 bond will need to be paid in the Trinity Point Marina office by way of a pre‐authorised hold on a Credit Card. These funds will be refunded on satisfactory inspection of the returned vessel.

Vessel hire is for recreational purposes only and any other use including for commercial purposes is only permitted with written approval from Trinity Point Marina. Breach of these conditions will likely not be covered by insurance policy in place and hirer will be fully liable.

Vessel capacity ‐ Each person, regardless of age, is counted as 1 whole person.

Hirer must check in and be ready to board the vessel at least 15 minutes prior to the booked time. Additional time will not be given for late arrivals.

Vessel will be provided at beginning of hire period with a full tank of fuel and on returning the vessel, the hirer must pay to re‐fuel the amount used. Vessels will be refuelled by Trinity Point Marina upon return, fuel is charged as per the pump price on the day. To maintain quality of fuel, the vessel is not to be refuelled at any other facility including by portable fuel containers. There is ample fuel onboard for a full days use.

No persons are to access the roof of the vessel at any time. No equipment or luggage is to be placed or stored on the roof. If any persons are observed on the roof during the hire period, the bond on hold paid at time of hire will not be returned.

The vessel is to remain well clear of all other vessels and wharves during its period of use. Vessel is not to be beached, run ashore or approach any shoreline whatsoever. No persons can be picked up or dropped off during period of hire except in an emergency or with approval from Trinity Point Marina. If persons need to embark or disembark the vessel during the hire period this must be done at the Trinity Point Marina fuel wharf or as otherwise instructed by Trinity Point Marina Staff. All persons 12 years or under must wear a lifejacket at all times.
A safety briefing will be delivered before departure with hire boat. Person in charge must be present for boat briefing and is required to enforce all rules explained as listed on the general rules list for the vessel.

Boat is restricted to certain areas of operation. Failure to abide by such boundaries may result in loss of bond (see map below for general area of operation). Exceptions may be made to the area of operation for special requests only with requests made prior and permission granted in writing. Please notify us by at time of booking if you wish to take the boat out of area.

Boat must be returned in a reasonable clean state. Additional cleaning fees apply for boats not returned in a reasonable condition.

TOILETS ‐ ONLY human waste and toilet paper can be used within the toilet. If anything else, such as (but not limited to): rubbish, baby‐wipes, nappies, hygiene products are placed inside the toilet a cleaning fee will be incurred which sometimes includes a plumber to unblock the toilet system and can be $500

The sinks onboard are only for hand washing and food preparation. No bait is to be washed down the sink.

A boat licence is not required for the BBQ Boat.
Boat licences are only required for the Polycraft and Water Taxi. Boat licence must be presented at time of check in.

Cancellation policy including bad weather

We want you to have a safe and enjoyable day boating. If we deem the conditions to be unsafe or unsuitable for use of the vessel the booking will be postponed or cancelled, and a refund applied.
If you decide not to proceed with your booking, any cancellation must be received at least 48 hours prior to departure time otherwise no refunds given. If cancellation is due to extenuating circumstances, please advise us so management can review and advise if a refund will be possible.

Booking times can be rescheduled or cancelled by the customer up to 48 hours prior to the departure time (depending on other bookings). Cancellation will incur a $50 admin fee unless cancelled by Trinity Point Marina due to inclement weather or mechanical issues.

Area of operation and safety equipment

Suitable approved PFD’s, (lifejackets) for all passengers i.e. adult, child can be provided. (It is compulsory for children under 12 years to wear an approved lifejacket, please check regulations).

The vessel is only to be operated within the bounds of the below map. The vessel is not to be taken north of Wangi Wangi Point.

Please keep in mind the vessel needs to be returned prior to the end time of the booking. For example, if your booking time is from 12 Noon to 430PM, you need to have the vessel back to Trinity Point Marina by 430PM. The area of operation is large and it takes significant time to travel from the distant areas of the permitted area of operation back to Trinity Point Marina.

Return Conditions
Return times are strictly monitored and an additional cost will be charged for late return at $275 per hour if not prearranged. The hirer must pay any penalty notices that occur during the hire period. The hirer must pay for any damage or losses caused to the vessel/equipment during the hire period, this may include but not be limited to the bond that has been paid.

Day of Hire
Bring a hat, sunscreen, swimmers, fishing gear, lifejackets for kids if you have.
Food and drink. An esky is recommended for ease of transport and ice is sold at the marina. Remember the skipper needs to remain under .05 blood alcohol limit (same as driving a car).
We will have the vessel ready for your hire time and will run through final paperwork and vessel operation and rules, this bit normally takes 15 minutes.

Bond of $1000 will need to be paid prior to departure, this is done by blocking out $1000 on your supplied credit card.
A copy of your drivers licence (must be current) will be taken in the marina office.
We will assist your departure from the marina.

See you back at the marina prior to your booked hire period closes to avoid penalty rates.
On return, please let us know any issues with the vessel and we will also be checking for any damage and refuelling the vessel.
If all is in order your credit card bond block of $1000 will be released and we will charge you only for the fuel used on the day.

Hirer declaration
The Hirer acknowledges and accepts that the use and operation of any vehicle including this vessel is subject to inherent risks and dangers. The Hirer accepts those risks and agrees to indemnify Trinity Point Marina and the Owner of the Vessel (where different from Trinity Point Marina) for any losses suffered by the Hirer, any passengers or any third parties as a result of the materialization of those risks and dangers. The Hirer also undertakes to advise all passengers of the risks and dangers associated with the use and operation of the vessel prior to boarding. The hirer acknowledges & understands all safety material and briefings that have been presented.
The hirer acknowledges that they have read, understood and agree to be bound by the terms and conditions of this rental agreement and have made themselves familiar with both the location and content of the safety management plan and safety equipment onboard the vessel. The hirer is responsible for all occupants complying with all conditions. If they have presented their credit card for payment, all amounts payable under the agreement and for any violations may be billed to the credit card or retained from bond monies on hold. Confirmation, sighting of original of the of the hirer’s identification will be required, a copy of this identification (valid vehicle drivers licence) will also be taken as part of the induction and vessel sign out process.
